Haberfield Baptist Church (HBC)
HBC will be known as a welcoming, friendly, passionate, caring & praying community.
We will be known as actively living a real faith in Christ, experiencing regularly the power of God.
We will be a 1community that actively seeks after intimacy with God. We will seek after the enabling, anointing and fruits of the Holy Spirit within the church, as a body, and each believer individually.
We see that our identity is first and foremost “Christian” (FOLLOWERS of Jesus) with our belief being always guided by the word of God and His Spirit.
We will be Christ focused and kingdom orientated with our desire being to fulfill our purpose as part of the larger body of Christ (All Churches).
We envisage that we will be a church that actively assists every Christian to know Christ, understand and know their spiritual gift and where that gift fits into what we do as a church.
The church will provide opportunities and support that will guide people to a place of God through Small groups, preaching and personal discipleship in a way that allows every person to grow and understand God’s purpose for them at HBC.
We envisage that our church will be a church of worshippers, seeking to discover what it is to worship in Spirit and in truth (whole life and genuine) (John 4:23). We will be a community that worships:-
•to discover the depths of God
•as a response to the grace given by Him
•as a demonstration of our love & adoration of Him
•express our devotion to Him
We will be a church that impacts the world with the gospel and the love of Christ. We will be passionate about our faith and actively seek to save people into the Kingdom.
The Gospel will not be contained by the walls of the church but be part of our everyday life, wherever we are. Our focus is on the making disciples of all people, yet without neglecting the physical and social needs of our community, nation and the world.
We will be an equipping church that reaches, teaches and inspires other churches and the broader Christian community.
We see that we will not be on the sideline of the community, but as part of the body of Christ, the focal point of the community – revealing Jesus clearly.
We see that the nature and content of our communication will increase and change to meet the ever-growing changes in our culture and cultures around the world.
Our field of influence is not restricted to Haberfield, the Inner-West, Sydney or Australia but extends to wherever the Holy Spirit leads.
The Holy Spirit will guide our ministry, our ministry will guide the needs of our facilities --- Our resources and facilities will serve God’s purpose for the church.
We see that the Prayer ministry of the church will continue to expand and be a key component to the growth and impact of HBC. This ministry will also be key to the ‘equipping’ vision of the church locally and internationally.
The preschool will continue to be a missional focus of the church seeking a closer interaction between the church and it’s ministry (Community).
HBC (Haberfield Baptist Church) is a growing church with lots happening. We are a contemporary, bible based church that loves meeting together and making real connection – Connection with each other and connecting with God. At HBC church has changed - come and see!
